About
Scottish-American cellist Hannah MacLeod thrives on live performance. With experience in solo, chamber, recorded and new music, she has found a natural affinity in orchestral playing. Being immersed in works of genius and honoring the composer's intentions, whilst being the most responsive, communicative musician to her colleagues on stage is an endlessly stimulating challenge. Hannah is passionate about cultivating this love of orchestral playing in the next generation through her private teaching and work with El-Sistema inspired programs. She holds herself and her students to high standards so that they may become the best players they can. She is always asking questions to further understand what is needed technically, so that the more important questions of musicality and honoring the composer's vision may come more naturally.
